1) come up with: 마련하다

해결책, 전략, 아이디어, 자금 등을 마련할 때 진짜 많이 씀

Can you come up with a plan by tomorrow?

I came up with a strategy.

How did you come up with the rent? 어떻게 월세를 마련했니?

 

2) put together: 모으다/준비하다

팀원을 모을 때 (put together a team)도 쓰지만 프레젠테이션이나 보고서 등을 준비할 때도 자주 쓰임 (put together a presentation/ report)

"준비하다"라고 하면 get ready, prepare가 떠오르는데 네이티브들을 put together를 사용한다.

put together는 "모우다"라는 뜻도 있지만 모우다라는 뜻이 있음

So I've put together a marketing campaign.

 

3) work: 일하다/되다/작동하다

일정 잡을 때 빛을 발하는 work

Does Friday work for you? 금요일에 시간 돼? - 뭔가가 작동을 안 할 때 broken대신 '~doesn't work (안 돼)'

Does tomorrow work for you? 내일 시간돼?

Do you work tomorrow?

Does Friday work for you? 내일 시간 돼?

Do you work on Friday? 너 내일 일하니?

 Wifi doesn't work?

I don't think the wi-fi is working. 와이파이가 내 생각에는 안 되는 것 같은데.

미국 사람들은 부정을 앞에 사용하는 것을 좋아한다.

 

4) keep 사람 posted: 계속해서 진행상황이나 현황을 알려주다

I'll keep you posted.

Keep me posted. 어떻게 진행되는지 알려줘.

 

5) move up: 일정을 당기다 / move on: 넘어가다

Let's move on to the next topic (다음 주제로 넘어가자)

Can you move up the meeting?

6) pick up: (중단된 상황으로 돌아가) 계속하다, 사오다

Let's pick this up tomorrow (내일 이어서 계속하자)

Let's pick this up after runch.Let's call it a day and pick this up tomorrow. 오늘은 여기까지 하고 내일 이어서 계속하자. pick up은 사다(buy)라는 의미로도 사용.
